Automatic Overload Protection

Cloudy Container (Dry Blade Container)

Container becomes cloudy after grinding grains.

Solutions:

This is cosmetic and does not affect performance.

Container Not Securing

Container does not lock onto the motor base.

Solutions:

Ensure the container is properly aligned with the motor base. Clean the centering pad. Contact Vitamix customer service if the locking mechanism is damaged.

Discoloration/Odors (Dry Blade Container)

Container discolors or retains odors after grinding herbs/spices.

Solutions:

This is cosmetic and does not affect performance. Consider using a separate container for grinding herbs/spices.

Machine Won't Start

Machine does not power on when the on/off switch is activated.

Solutions:

Ensure the machine is securely plugged into a working outlet. Test the outlet with another appliance. Contact Vitamix customer service if the problem persists.

Retainer Nut Loosening

Retainer nut at the bottom of the container loosens.

Solutions:

Contact Vitamix customer service for assistance and potential replacement.

Tamper Touching Blades

Tamper makes contact with the blades during operation.

Solutions:

Verify you are using the correct tamper for your container. Ensure the lid is securely locked and the tamper is used only through the lid plug opening.
